Research Interest

At the present time, I am professor of Mathematics at the Department of Mathematics, Universidad del Valle. My research interest is at the intersection of partial differential equations, mathematical physics, nonlinear dispersive models related to water waves. For these models or systems, we study the well-posedness in different domains, the existence of special solutions like travelling waves or standing waves, the stability analysis. In the last couple of years, I have involved in control theory for dispersive models. I am the director of the research group “Ecuaciones Diferenciales Parciales y Geometría-EDPG (Partial Differential Equations and Geometry) classified by MinCiencias in category A.
